APPLE Center closing
It’s sad to say that yes, the APPLE Center is slated to end its public hours this week. The Center has served our community since September 2009 and had enjoyed much admiration and appreciation both locally and regionally from community members and activists.
The Center’s e-waste program has ended. If you have e-waste to dispose of the McCourtney Road Transfer Station is open 5 days per week, and you can take it there.
The Center will remain available for APPLE’s various meeting groups through February to provide transition time for these groups to find a different meeting space. APPLE will continue to offer opportunities to gather, discuss, read and share information about sustainable lifestyles and sustainable communities so stay tuned to hear more about upcoming opportunities to get involved.
Sadly, with the closing of the Center, we will also lose the staff support of our Executive Director, Mali Dyck. She’ll move on to do great things and we’re grateful for the time and work she gave to APPLE over the last three years.
Thank you for your support!
